for what? When I checked out & told the clerk what had happened I was informed that no adjustments could be made until management got there later. Despite a no-smoking rule the whole 3rd floor smelled of cigarettes & pot, but that's not uncommon in LV nowadays. A few minor items.of the 3 lamps in the room only 1 worked, the other 2 were missing the switches. At that point I was up & in a flooded room so I just left. No one from the hotel ever showed up or made any announcements cancelling the "emergency". That occupant said his bathroom sprinkler went off by itself.not sure if that was true or not, he might have used it as a hanger or smoked in the bathroom.but the water was pouring directly into my room and in less than 2 minutes was 2" deep throughout the room. I threw on some clothes & grabbed my suitcase but when I opened the door a bunch of other guests were standing around in the hallway as water flooded out of the room directly adjacent to mine. To summarize, the "free" parking situation is awful! So why did I check out early? I got up to use the restroom about 7:45 AM when suddenly the emergency fire alarms went off advising everyone to leave immediately via the staircases. Skipping ahead a few hours a major room issue caused me to check out by 8AM, which ended up saving me a parking ticket as I was unknowingly in the non-Oasis lot and a parking attendant was kind enough to let me slide because I was already in my car ready to go. Basically I cruised the lots for hours at a time along with hundreds of others partygoers & was not able to access parking, and thus my room, until 2 in the morning. There is another lot attached to the secondary lot, but that is labelled (with a small barely noticeable sign) that it's NOT Oasis parking. Instead of having dedicated parking for the hotel, the tiny tiny lot just outside the lobby, along with the somewhat larger lot across the street are both City of LV pay lots you get a hang tag allowing free parking but on a Friday night every spot was filled from 6 PM til after 2 AM. This was a minor inconvenience but if you have mobility issues, such as an older couple with walkers who I ended up helping out, it's a major disadvantage. You have to walk through the nightclub dance floor & pool tables to get to the elevators in the tower, security holds you back until the floor is somewhat clear then waves you through. The noise level is high, the hotel provides bedside earplugs which is never a good sign. First & foremost, the location in downtown has numerous nightclubs & bars, including the floor level nightclub at the Oasis itself. Unfortunately in this case, my expectations were not met, in fact they were crushed. I chose the Oasis for a quick shopping weekend in Vegas, just wanted someplace quiet, convenient with good ratings & reasonable parking options.
